Here are some ideas I had for troops. This might change, of course, depending on the era we decide on. Infantry:-Rifleman (good vs other infantry, bad vs armored and air units) -RPG (good vs armored units and structures) -Grenadier (very good vs. all Infantry, decent vs armored units) Armored Units-Anti-Air Unit (Good vs air, bad vs ground) -Tank (Good vs. armored units, good vs structures very strong armor) -Jeep (fast, good vs infantry) -Rocket (slow, long range, very good vs armored, very good vs structures) -Truck (weak, but carries a lot of resources or infantry) Air Units-Scout (gathers information on the enemy) -Fighter (very good vs air units, good vs infantry) -Bomber (very good vs infantry, armored units and structures, weak vs air -Transporter (fast, transports resources or intantry) If you have any comments or sugjestions, feel free to comment on this post

scouts should not be limited to aircraft. should be able to scout via inf in jeeps. jeeps could have optional .50 cal. mounted. should also serriously consider making spys. sneak'm into a city and hope they don't get caught. how about pathfinders and airborne troops.

I've been thinking of spies, actually. They could work as civilians or military troops in the enemy cities. It looks like the era will be 1800s though, so no more air troops and vehicles.
This would mean we're going back to the horses and bayonet days.

For troops many games don't give you many types just your basic Lt tank and your Heavy tank why not put more in each one having its own pros and cons like infantry support witch would work well against infantry and other light vehicles but do poorly versus any armored tanks, and a variety of planes such as interceptors,fighters,fighter/bomber combo light bombers and heavy bombers.

Troops: limit the amount of each troop type. increase damage done by each troop type on a realistic scale. in a post-apoc scenario, the idea of aircraft may not be a good idea, but i may be wrong. if so, then limit aircraft types to light, helicopter, and maybe some fighters. jeeps or humvees, yes. tanks, for sure. artilliary, 105mm, 155mm, mortars, and spgs, oh yeah. infantry, rifleman, heavy weapons, snipers, yes please. more later.

Oh yeah, I'll have to start this thread over from scratch tomorrow now that we have the new setting'. I agree with planes being a no-go.

Yeah the aircraft should be generally pretty primitive. Maybe scouts could travel in balloons or something.

Hot air balloons? I like that lol, I'll see if I could work that out when I get to the troop part. I think instead of making people train troops though, players will have to build vehicles and weapons and then train workers to use them. Changes things up a bit.
